Your project meetings are falling flat with stakeholders. How can you capture their interest?
Stakeholders, like anyone, want to know, “What’s in it for me?” Here a couple thoughts how to make meetings more effective: 1) Publish an agenda in advance, including the purpose of the meeting, and time slots for each topic (some stakeholders may only want to join for "their" topic time slot). 2) Clearly communicate what’s “in it for them” and expectations — I.e. a status update or key decision-making session? 3) Allocate sufficient time for input and discussion. 4) Engage quieter stakeholders by actively seeking their opinions. 5) Share meeting notes with action items, highlighting stakeholder contributions and great suggestions. 6) Hone your skills as a masterful meeting facilitator.
